Ox Hair

Ox hair is taken from the ears of cattle or oxen. It is quite long and springy and has very fine tips. Because of its characteristics, brush makers usually use this hair for bright, flat and cat’s tongue shaped brushes.
These brushes can be utilized with an assortment of painting media such as watercolor and oil. Ox hair brushes hold a large amount of color and their spring allows them to move larger amounts of paint across the canvas easily. This especially works excellent with thicker paint or mediums.
